April 14, 2025, our beloved father and grandfather, Myles Leroy Brownlow made his transition. Born January 9, 1931, he was 94 years young as he retained his mental sharpness until his very last days. He was the only child of George L. Brownlow, and Agnes M. Masek. He was blessed to be raised with both sets of grandparents, and a multitude of aunts, uncles, and cousins. Born in Rushville, Nebraska farmland, he spent his childhood running through the fields and fishing in the creeks.
Myles graduated from Rushville High School, lettering in football and basketball, and he attended two years of Bible College. He chose carpentry as his profession and took great pride in his craft. He assisted with the building of many of the houses in the Scottsbluff, Nebraska area. He built the house that his parents lived in for decades. Myles and his wife for fifty-six years, Glady Elaine Kastendieck, retired to that same home when they left Colorado, where they had lived for many years.
Myles and Elaine loved to travel and explore the Midwestern states, making many fond memories for Elaine to now hold dear. Myles’ first marriage to Lois L. Hood resulted in three children, Vonda Gail, Kyle Leroy and Kevin Edward. Their families grew, and Myles is the grandfather of eight children, the great-grandfather of eight children and the great-great-grandfather of one grandson.
As a family we honor and thank our dear one for the good memories.
