His memorial service will be Monday, April 21, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel with Pastor Tim Hebbert officiating. Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Gering with military honors. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family to be determined at a later date. Jerry was born on September 2, 1952 to Steven and Norma (Nelson) Todd in Scottsbluff. He was the middle child of five boys. Jerry graduated from Scottsbluff High School in 1971 and entered the US Marine Corp in 1972, spending time at Cherry Point in NC and Okinawa, Japan. Upon his honorable discharge, Jerry married and to that union, two children were born, Brenda and Brady. He also adopted a son, Neal.
He later married Linda Relka Darnall, adding a son, Michael to their family.
Jerry worked for his dad at the gas station, before starting at Guerdon Industries. He worked his way through the plant, through ups and downs and changes of management and ownership for 50+ years. Retiring from Family Built Homes as Purchasing agent in 2023.
Jerry loved all sports-playing fast pitch softball, slow pitch softball and coaching baseball for years. Golfing and bowling in his spare time.
He was an avid Husker and Bronco fan.
Most important to him were his kids, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was always up for a game of basketball with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife Linda; children Brenda (Jason) Fulk, NE, Brady Todd, NE, Neal (Linda) Estes (adopted son), TX; step children Stacy Bliss (Larry Addison), CO and Eric (Liz) Darnall, LA; 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; brothers Terry (Peggy Tuttle) Todd, Gary Todd, Randy (Cindy) Todd and Rick (Roylene) Todd; brother-in-law Dave (Tammy) Relka and many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
Jerry was preceded in death by his parents, Steve and Norma Todd, in-laws Walter and Gloria Relka, son Michael Lee Todd and sister-in-law Dixie Todd.
Monday, April 21, 2025, A Celebration of Life with a meal will follow at the Rompus Room in Gering.
