George was born on March 28, 1933 in Mitchell, Nebraska to Fred and Katherine (Keller) Wilhelm. George met and married Gladys Honstine in 1951, of this union 3 children were born, Deborah, Cynthia, and George Jr. In 1970, George met and married Betty J Robey and added 3 more children to the family, Rick, Terrylynn, and Dennis.
George was an exceptional person, he never met a stranger and had the gift of gab. Especially when it came to cars, he was a Chevy man all the way. George always had a smile, and a good story about his many changes to the town of Scottsbluff since he was a child and young adult.
George worked many places in Scottsbluff. As a young man, many which are no longer here, Fred Meingers Service, Grapette Bottling Co, Platte Valley Cement, North Central Gas, L.W. Cox Lumber Yard, Fullen Construction, CO-OP Appliance, Sievers Potato Co. in Scottsbluff, Green Acers Cemetery, Bloomington, CA and retired from the University of California at Riverside, CA.
George is survived by his wife of 54 years, Betty Wilhelm, daughter Cynthia (Jim) Rodgers, son Rick Robey; grandchildren Kellie Rodgers, James P. Rodgers, Katie (Jerry) Stiff, Darling Browning, Todd (Jennell) Browning; 15 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.
George was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Katherine, daughter Deborah, son George Jr. (Joe), son Dennis Robey, daughter Terrylynn Robey, great grandson Gage Stiff and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
