Frances Estelle Keim, 91, longtime resident of Bridgeport and recently of Scottsbluff, died December 27, 2024. Frances was born to Paul and Naomi (Hill) Carrigan on February 2, 1933 in Wray, Colorado. After her father died when Frances was four months old, her mother continued to raise her in Wray, where Frances completed her education. Frances married David Keim on September 4, 1952, and they made their first home together in Chadron and began a family. In 1960, they moved to Bridgeport, which was their home for the next 58 years and where they raised five children.
After her children were grown, Frances worked at the Bergs Gamble store in Bridgeport for 20 years. Frances loved hosting her family for holidays, Sunday dinners, and celebrations. She particularly looked forward to Thanksgivings and hosting annual Halloween suppers for her grandchildren. Frances and David spent many years growing large gardens, traveling the country, and camping with their children and grandchildren.
Frances is survived by her four children, Marilyn (Don) Norman of Western Grove, Arkansas, Mark (Deb) Keim of Bridgeport, Brenda (Kendell) Henderson of Scottsbluff, and Kevin (Nioka) Keim of Huntsville, Arkansas; 17 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Edna Whaley and Ravay Kleeb of Broken Bow. She was preceded in death by her husband, David; son, Duane; grandson, Timothy; brothers-in-law, Alvin Keim, Erwin Keim, and Franklin Keim; and sisters-in-law, Katherine Peak and Annalee Coday.
The family will receive visitors on Monday, December 30 from 4-6 p.m. at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel in Scottsbluff. Frances’s funeral service will take place on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 10 a.m. at Dugan Kramer. A graveside service will be at held at 3 p.m. at Oregon Trail Memorial Cemetery in Bridgeport.
