Everett met Betty Schuldies when she was a senior in high school. She was the “love of his life” and constant companion for over for 50 years. Beginning in 1958, Junior coached the Taylor Tots Softball Team for several years. Softball was his life. He received the Jim Memorial Award from the Nebraska Softball Association in 1968 in recognition of his coaching ability, sportsmanship and adherence to the Ideals of Jim Hall. Junior helped many girls get started playing softball. On road trips for the softball team Betty and Junior refurbished an old school bus to take the girls to games. They painted it bright red and traveled lots of miles. The song “Wheels on the Bus” was sung a lot of times. Junior worked for Cook Livestock for many years, Hiner & Frank Implement, Corr and Johns of Minatare, City of Scottsbluff and then owned and operated BKJ Cleaning Service with Betty. Junior was dedicated to his home and decorating for every season and caring for his dogs Skipper, Taffy and Misty. A special thank you to Heritage Estates and Prairie Haven Hospice for all of their care.
