Dorothy R. Thomason, 91, of Gering, died Sunday, June 4, 2006 at the Northfield Villa Medical Center. A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006 at Northfield Villa with Pastor Ron Nuss-Warren officiating. Cremation was held at Sunset Memorial Park. Dorothy was born July 30, 1914 in Kimball, NE to George L. and Harriett E. (Rollings) Vogler. She attended school in Kimball, NE. She married Guy E. Thomason September 12, 1933 in the Kimball Methodist Church by her grandfather Judge Henry Vogler. They lived in Scottsbluff from 1934-1944, where she was a bookkeeper for the Scottsbluff Production Credit Association. They moved to El Paso, TX for a year before returning to Scottsbluff in 1945. Dorothy was a bookkeeper for Bomgardner Motor Co, Meyers Ford and Meyers Toyota from 1946-1973 at Robertson Toyota from 1973-1978 and at Cannon Brothers Ford & Toyota from 1978-1983 when she retired. She moved to Northfield Villa in 1987. Dorothy loved to bowl, golf, play bridge and read. She loved all sports especially Nebraska Cornhuskers and Denver Broncos. She is survived by, one brother, John R. (Helen) Vogler of Tampa, FL; sister-in-law: Frances Vogler of Maynard, CA; nieces: Susan Braithwaite of Louisiana and Betsy Vogler of Floriday; nephews: George M. (Pat) Vogler of Englewood, CO, Paul (Gabrielle) Vogler of Italy, Charles (Lydia) Vogler, Maryland; 2 great nieces and 5 great nieces; her husband’s nieces: Joan B. (Roger) Stear, Gering, NE and Janice (Bill) Ahrens, California and many great nieces & nephews. Her husband Guy, brother George L. Vogler, Jr., nephew, John R. Vogler, Jr, parents, 3great nephews and one great-great niece preceded her in death.
