

Christine Selby, 98 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska died Friday, July 3, 2009 at the Mitchell Care Center. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at the Plymouth Congregational Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Rod Wetzig officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 7 at Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be given to the church or to donor’s choice. Christine was born on March 27, 1911 in Norka, Russia to Yost and Christina (Wolf) Weber. She came to Lincoln, NE. in February of 1914, then moved to Minatare in 1919. She was confirmed in the Lutheran Church in Minatare in 1935. Christine became an U.S. citizen in May of 1941. She married Earl C. Selby in Gering on March 26, 1938. She was a member of the Plymouth Congregational Church since 1954 and was active in Pilgrim Society and Bible studies. She was Past Deaconess and chairman of Pilgrim Society. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Jean and husband Farrell Ross of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Kevin and Cinda Ross of Minatare and Lorna Helding of Florence, SC; great grandchildren, Stockton and wife, Denise Helbing of Dallas, TX, Christina Helbing of Columbia, SC, Kalena and husband, Noah Perry of Bayard and Candace Ross of Scottsbluff; great great grandchildren, Kalvin James Perry and Kyle Tod Perry; sister, Esther Grommet of Minatare, brother, John Arndt of Mitchell and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Selby, mother, Christina Weber, father, Yost Weber, stepfather, George Arndt, three sisters and five brothers. The family would like to extend their appreciation for the loving care given to my mother by the Prairie Haven Hospice, Mitchell Care Center and the Assisted Living at the Village.
