Celia was born June 14, 1953 in Edinburg, Texas to Carlos and Ignacia (Mancillas) Rojas. The family moved to Lyman, Nebraska where Celia started school, continuing her education in Scottsbluff when the family moved into town.
Celia was united in marriage to Israel Ojeda on February 14, 1971 at Scottsbluff. The couple made their home in Scottsbluff with Celia being a stay at home mom while raising their three children: Stella, Daniel, and Deborah. Celia received her GED from WNCC in 1983, C.N.A. in 1984, Med Aide in 1985, LPN in 1995, LPN in 1995, LPN-C in 1996, certificate to be substitute teacher in 1998, Associate of Applied Science Degree from WNCC in 1999, and Limited Radiographer in 2009.
Celia loved nursing! She loved working with her patients. The patients gave her a warm and loving feeling in her heart, knowing that she was helping others. She began her healthcare work in 1985 at Heritage Healthcare Center where she worked for 10 years, Regional West Medical Center for 2 years, Western Nebraska Veterans Home for 7 years, and most recently CAPWN for 12 years, which was her favorite job. She had lots of friends and shared laughter until her illness forced her to retire.
Celia attended Mitchell Berean Church with her family as often as possible. The most enjoyable things for her to do in life were spending time with her family, sewing, camping, traveling, crocheting and joking around as much as possible. She loved watching Bonanza and the Disney Channel and especially liked to go to Disney movies with the kids. She loved Demolition Derby’s so much that she once participated in the Powder Puff division and placed 2nd. More than anything, she loved humming and dancing to a good beat.
