Carolyn Ruth Hess

Carolyn Ruth Hess, 99 of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at The Residency Care Center in Scottsbluff. Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Scottsbluff with Pastor Matt Fowler officiating. A private family inurnment will be held at Sunset Memorial Park. Cremation has taken place. A memorial has been established to the First United Methodist Church of Scottsbluff and the First United Methodist Church of Morrill. Tributes of sympathy may be left at www.dugankramer.com. Dugan Kramer Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. Carolyn was born on April 27, 1914 in Morrill, Nebraska, the daughter of Everett and Katherine (Klinger) Walker. She graduated from Morrill High School. She was united in marriage to Owen T. Hess on August 16, 1936 in Morrill, Nebraska. They lived in Morrill until the early 1990’s and moved to The Residency in Scottsbluff. She enjoyed playing cards, reading, knitting and traveling. She especially loved to spend time with her family. Carolyn was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 75 years. She was active in the United Methodist Women in Morrill and Scottsbluff. She was a member of the Morrill Literary Club, Eastern Star and numerous Bridge clubs. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Lois and Ron Bartlett of Hiawassee, GA and Connie and Allen Meyer of Gering; grandchildren: Sherry and Mark Duncan and Cathy and James Ingram all of GA, Kim and Myron Klein of Scottsbluff and Laurie and Fred Budd of Greeley, CO; great grandchildren: Chris and Andrea Duncan and their children Taylor and Ansley of GA, Sean and Amber Duncan of MO, Adam and Alisha Ingram of NC, Allie Ingram of GA, Brandi Meier of CO, Meghan and John Anderson of SD, Brett Klein of Kearney, NE, Bryan and Jessica Budd and their children Braedyn and Brooklyn of CO and Jake Budd of CO. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Owen and two brothers Ivan and Bernard Walker.
