Born in Watertown, he was the devoted son of the late Robert P. and Margaret (Mullay) McGee. He was a graduate of Saint Clement’s School and went on to proudly serve his country in the US Air Force. Upon his honorable discharge, he earned his Associates degree in business and worked for many years for Western Union as a telegraph operator. Upon his retirement, he worked part time at Marshfield schools and later at Abington Schools.
Tom was an avid golfer and enjoyed golfing on his way home from work. He was a talented painter, working with oils and watercolors and crafting many treasured works of art that he shared with his family and friends. He travelled the world, especially loving his “52 years in a row” to Florida, where he visited friends in Miami and Fort Lauderdale. Some of his most noteable travels were his trips to Greece, Turkey and Italy.
He was the loving brother of Margaret E. McGee of Kennebunk, ME, George McGee of Scituate and the late Robert P. McGee, Patricia Anderson, Joanne Draper and Richard J. McGee. He is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate on Tuesday, Dec. 28 at 10 AM. Military funeral honors to take place at the conclusion of the Mass.
