Robert "Bob" Williams, of Charleston, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on January 30, 2025, surrounded by his daughters and grandchildren. He was the son of Wilma “Keezie” and Gene Hal Williams; brother to Brian, Greg, Kathy, Doug and Steve; father to Katie and Sarah; Pap Pap to Norah, Sadie and Ben; and uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Bob attended West Virginia University and Capitol Law School and pursued a distinguished legal career at Maroney Williams Weaver and Pancake, where he practiced law for over 30 years. Bob was a skilled personal injury and workers compensation attorney who took great pride in his work. He also forged many of his closest lifelong friendships with colleagues at the law firm, who he considered family.
Bob was best known for his sense of humor and jovial personality. He was always quick to tell a joke or a slightly outlandish story to a listening ear. He could make his daughter Sarah laugh with only a sneeze. Bob also had a very generous spirit and would share with those in need. He leaves behind many loyal friends in addition to his family.
Bob had a lifelong passion for the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He was most at peace on his farm in Roane County, where he loved the quiet of sitting on his porch with his German Shepherd. He was a dedicated and loving father who took great pride in his daughters. In retirement, despite his love of the West Virginia mountains and skepticism of “Yankees,” Bob relocated to Massachusetts to be closer to his children and grandchildren. His family is so grateful for this time together.
In accordance with Bob’s wishes, services will be private. To honor his memory, donations may be made to the Marshall University Autism Training Center and the WV Land Trust.
