Robert Carney McHugh, of Scituate, passed away on July 26th, 2017. Loving father of Laura Cronin and her husband Ted of Harwich. Loving grandfather to Colleen Cronin. Robert leaves his brothers Edward McHugh of Scituate and John McHugh of Hingham, and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Edward and Eleanor McHugh of Bridgewater and his brother Richard McHugh of Wellesley.
For years Robert had been in the real estate business in Scituate. He was also the Regional Administrator for FEMA after The Blizzard of 1978. He served on many Town of Scituate boards and committees. He enjoyed particularly The Clover Club of Boston, of which he was a member for many years, and American Legion Post 144 in Scituate.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mary's Church in Scituate on Tuesday, August 1, 2017 at 10:00 AM. The burial will be at Bourne Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in his name may be made to the Scituate Council of Aging, 27 Brook St, Scituate, Massachusetts 02066
