Rita McGowan

MCGOWAN, Rita- Age 91, Marshfield, passed away January 10, 2021. Born in Gardner, MA, she was the daughter of the late John Emmett and Mary Alice (Kiley) Walsh. Loving wife of the late William Stephen McGowan, her childhood sweetheart. Beloved mother to Maryann Brinkerhoff, Alice and Carl Bois, William Stephen and Cathy McGowan Jr., Marcia and Richard Kibby, Christine and Jeffrey Bartlett. Cherished grandmother to Jennifer Crowley, Carl Jr and Corey Bois, Sean, Jocelyn and Evan Kibby, Zachary, Hannah, Samuel, Lily Bartlett and great grandmother to Charlie Bois, Avery and Caleb Cornish. Loving sister to Anne McGowan, Claire Twine, and Jane Vass.

Rita was a graduate from Brockton High School class of 1947 and attended nursing school at Boston College. After college she began to work as an RN in the hospital and at a Special School for children with developmental disabilities. She loved to garden, spend time around the pool, and always had a beloved canine companion to spoil. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family.
