Richard William Taylor, 62, of Scituate Massachusetts, passed away unexpectedly on January 25, 2025. Richard Taylor was born January 4, 1963 in Albion Nebraska to Warren and Eloise Taylor. Two older brothers and a sister came before him and he missed being the hospital’s New Year’s baby that year by just a few days. He attended Albion High School in Albion Nebraska and graduated in 1981. He then attended the University of Nebraska (UNL) at Lincoln, Nebraska where he graduated with a Master’s Degree in Architecture in 1987. After graduating he did an internship in Baltimore, Maryland and then settled in the greater Boston area working as an architect before switching to several well-known architectural software companies over the years, such as Autodesk, Revit, and Ideate Software / Graitec as a manager and Technical Evangelist.
He had a love for big cities and tall buildings since early childhood. Richard would build Legos in the days before complicated kits were sold and knew he wanted to grow up and be involved with architecture. Richard met and married the love of his life, Angelo Francisquini on July 2, 2005 in Boston. They shared a love of travel and thanks to his work and the many conferences he presented at, they were able to visit such wonderful places as Thailand, Singapore, Japan, London, as well as US cities from coast to coast. Richard had a love of trains and even had the HO trains sets as a hobby. Richard was community minded and ran to be on the Planning Board for Scituate and served between May 2012 - May 2018. All of Richard’s family and friends will miss him greatly as he was such a positive friendly person who touched many lives with his loving and helpful perspective. He loved his coffee and walking his dog in the lovely Scituate area beaches. He loved taking pictures of the beautiful sites Scituate has to offer and shared them on his Facebook page for others to enjoy.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents. Those left to mourn his passing are: Angelo Francisquini his spouse, brother Steven Taylor and wife Pam from Kirbyville, MO, brother Paul Taylor and wife Joyce of Bartlesville, OK, sister Gloria Geiselman and husband Jeff of Kearney, NE, sister in laws Joan Encarnacion of Ashland MA, Jessica and William Lyons III of Spartanburg SC Nieces and Nephews, Stephanie Cliff and husband Michael Jenks OK, Jessica Clemence and husband Jon of Everett WA, Brian Taylor of, Pittsburgh PA, Joshua Geiselman and wife Judith, Riverdale, NE, Amanda Taylor and wife Emily of Jenks OK, Justin Geiselman of Norfolk, NE, Willie Brassell of Rhode Island, Vanessa Walker and husband Larry of RI, Alexis and Travis Weeks of Stoughton MA, Ebony Valembrun of Shrewsbury MA, Kyla Elie of Rutland MA Godson Isaiah Elie of Rhode Island, many cousins, great nieces and nephews and dear friends.
A visitation for Richard will be held Monday, February 3, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate, Ma. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, February 4, 2025 at 10:30 AM at St Luke's Episcopal Church, 465 First Parish Rd, Scituate, MA.
