Priscilla was born on November 20,1941 in Sioux City, Iowa to Rolland Alexis Line and Catharine Perkins Line and older sister Kay. Priscilla graduated from Lyons Township High School of La Grange, Illinois in 1959 and in only three years, cum laude, from Washington University in Saint Louis, Missouri in 1962.
Wife to Donald S. Batty for 54 years and a longtime resident of Cheshire, Connecticut, Priscilla delighted in setting a beautiful table for family and friends. Her annual wine and cheese parties, Memorial Day parade celebrations, and countless festivities for friends and family were marked by her warm Midwestern hospitality. Priscilla loved performing in Cheshire Community Theatre and was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She leaves three sons, Donald Scott Batty, Jr. and daughter-in-law Jean of Scituate, Massachusetts, David Line Batty and daughter-in-law Lyn of Davidson, North Carolina, and Christopher William Batty and daughter-in-law Regina of New Britain, Connecticut. Priscilla was also treasured by her honorary daughter and niece Catharine Toates Leonard and husband Jeff, and nephew Russell Toates and wife Blair of Dallas, Texas. She leaves eight grandchildren: Jacob, Nathan, Eliza, Anna, Thomas, William, Erin, and Theodore and seven grandnieces and nephews Emily, Mary Kristin, Jeffrey, Julianne, Joseph, Tate, and Greer.
A memorial service will be held on January 6 at 11am at St. Peter’s Church in Cheshire, Connecticut with private gathering to follow. There are no calling hours.
