Lyman Bradford Preston, Jr. – 93, lifelong Scituate resident passed away on the afternoon of December 20, 2020. He was the beloved husband of the late Marilou N. Preston, who predeceased him in 2007.
Devoted father of Philip E. Preston of Scituate and Kenneth P. Preston of Revere.
Born in Marshfield, he was the son of the late Lyman B., Sr. and Pauline (Stanton) Preston. Loving brother of the late Richard Preston.
Lyman was a graduate of Scituate High School Class of 1944. He was a proud US Army veteran of WWII and served from 1944-1946. Following his honorable discharge from the service, he received a Bachelor’s Degree from Northeastern University in 1952 with a concentration in English. He worked at various Boston-based companies before becoming a teamster in 1970 and continued driving until his retirement in 1990.
He was a member of the Union Local #25 and the American Legion Post #118. He was a lifelong member of Scituate’s Harbor United Methodist Church.
He will be laid to rest beside his late wife at a private graveside service in Cudworth Cemetery. A memorial service will be announced at a future date.
