Louis B. Eyster

Born in Boardman, Ohio, on July 16, 1929, he was the son of the late Ferl and Eva (Bauman) Eyster of Ohio. Lou graduated from MIT in 1953 with a degree in architecture. He had a 50+ year career as principal architect at his firm, Hidell-Eyster Associates located in Hingham, MA. He specialized in hospitals, water treatment plants, and colleges. His personal hobbies included gardening, breeding Scottish Terriers, bird watching, playing piano and flute, ballroom dancing, and painting. When he wasn't at his drawing table, you could find him in the yard where he would say he was "making God's earth beautiful". He grew stunning flower gardens and tediously tended to Canna, prickly pears and night blooming cacti. He entered in the Boston Flower show many times and earned first place for his glorious Red Christmas cactus.

Father of Valerie Mather (David) of Hull, the late Darlene Eyster (Jeffrey Dreyer) of Boulder, CO, Louis Eyster (Beth) of Norwell, Kurt Eyster (Barbara) of Westport and Celeste Crowley (Scott) of Scituate.

Grandfather of Beverly Mather-Marcus (Joe), Henry Bangert (Anna), Louis Eyster, Jr. (Sara), Graham Bangert, Melanie Mills (Chris), Shauna Eyster, Mark Ranney, Laura Devin (Mike), David Mather, II. (Heather), Jacob Ranney, Caroline Burke (Dan), Alexander Eyster, Mackay Lloyd, Summer Crowley and Scott Crowley.

Brother of the late Margaret Fieger and the late Carol Wiestling.

Uncle to Barbara Fieger, Wally Fieger, Cathy Wiestling Frost, Pam Ball, Patricia Wiestling and Judy Wiestling. Ben Forde, Susan Forde, the late Jimmy Forde, Alison Forde, the late Joe Forde, John Forde, James Forde .

Great Grandfather to Alexandra, Hank, Guinevere, Grace, Holden, Alice, Olivia, Katelynn, Salina, Lucy, Hadley, Danny, Leo, Forde, and Grant.

Step-father to the late Denise Kniskern, Eduard Starbuck, Frank Kniskern, Andrew Kniskern, Melissa Colley, Matthew Kniskern and Rachel Raasch.
