O’LEARY, Kathleen F. passed away on August 15, 2012 at the age 69. In Danvers, formerly of Scituate and Bowie, MD. Kathleen was the beloved daughter of the late Leo F. and Agnes (Galvin) O’Leary. She is survived by her loving sister Marilyn O’Leary-Heaney and her husband Edward of Glastonbury, CT. Her nieces Allison Vanek of Chicago, Il and Deborah Carson of Cheshire, CT. and grand nephews Owen and Peter Carson of Cheshire, Ct. and Alex Vanek of Chicago, Il.
Kathleen was born in Boston. She attended the Boston School for the Deaf in Randolph from 1947-1958, a member of Fontbonne Academy Class of 1962, Gallaudet Univ. Wash. D.C. Class of 1966 where she was active in the Delta Epison Sorority, Univ. of Pittsburgh Class of 1970 where she received her M.L.S..
From 1966-1969, 1971-1972 she was Librarian for the Horace Mann School for the Deaf in Roxbury, MA. From 1972 to her retirement in 1990 she was Librarian for the U.S. Department of Agriculture, Indexing Section of the National Agricultural Library in Beltsville, MD. In her spare time she enjoyed knitting and being an avid sports fan.
Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road SCITUATE. Monday August 20, 2012 at 10AM followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Mary of the Nativity Church, Scituate at 11AM. Visiting hour will be on Monday from 10-10:45 am. Interment will be held in Union Cemetery.
