John William Dalton

DALTON, John W. Jr.- Age 82, of Scituate, formerly of Milton and South Weymouth, passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. John was the beloved husband of 58 years to Mary (Faherty) Dalton. He was a son to the late John and Catherine Dalton. Loving father to Deborah A. Donovan of Scituate, Susan M. Cassidy, her husband Jim of South Weymouth and John W. Dalton III of Scituate. Cherished grandfather to Meaghan Donovan of South Weymouth, James M. Cassidy, his wife Nicole of Hingham and Colleen M. Cassidy of South Weymouth. He will also be remembered by many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sisters Catherine I. Walsh and Jacqueline W. Bagnulo.

John was a proud graduate of the Massachusetts Maritime Academy which led to a lifelong love of sailing and the ocean. He was a good natured gentleman with a sharp sense of humor. John will be remembered most for being a dedicated, loving and proud husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

A visitation will take place on Sunday November 11, 2018 from 4pm-8pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A funeral mass will be held on Monday November 12, 2018 at 10am from St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate.
