Johanne M. Moran

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Johanne M. Moran (Russo), age 86, on March 3, 2025, in Hingham, MA. She passed peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Born on September 3, 1938, in Brookline, MA, Johanne grew up in Wellesley, MA, and was a graduate of Holy Cross Academy and Emmanuel College. A longtime resident of Weston, MA, she later moved to the South Shore towns of Scituate, Norwell, and Hingham, living a life filled with love, kindness, and dedication to her family and community.

She was predeceased by her parents, John E. and Mary E. Russo, and her brother, Anthony "Jack" Russo.

She is survived by her brothers Robert and his wife Lotte Russo of South Natick, MA; Edward and wife Lena Russo of Framingham, MA; Peter and wife Juanita Russo of Florida and Tennessee; her loving nieces and nephews, her son Christopher Moran of Cohasset, MA; her daughter Michelle Moran of Libertyville, IL; and her beloved grandsons Tucker Moran, Dylan Moran, and John (Moran) Ziegelbauer.

She had a deep love for children, especially her own. Known for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family, she brought joy to everyone around her. She was also admired for her timeless sense of style—always chic, effortlessly elegant, and with a grace that left a lasting impression. She was also a skilled artist and craftsperson, and her artwork and custom jewelry she designed and created were treasured by all.

Her professional career was a source of great pride. She began her career as a teacher, with a specialization in reading, a love she fostered in her children and grandchildren. Later she transitioned to the business world and had a lengthy career in the pharmaceutical industry, a role in which she was accomplished and well respected.

A visitation will be held on March 22, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Rd, Scituate, MA 02066, providing an opportunity for friends and family to gather and pay their respects. A memorial service celebrating Johanne’s life will follow at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, those who wish to remember Johanne in a special way may make a donation in her memory to either The New England Home for Little Wanderers, an organization dedicated to supporting children and families in need, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
