Scituate, MA — Jane Wilson, 83, a lifelong resident of East Braintree, died peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, August 15, 2023, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was the beloved daughter of the late David and Jane (Gibson) Wilson and sister of the late David S. Wilson.
Jane was especially proud of her Scottish Heritage,; her parents emigrated from Glasgow, Scotland. Jane was born on April 13, 1940. She attended Braintree schools and was a graduate of Braintree High School, Class of 1958. Jane resided in her hometown of Braintree in the house she grew up in until 2018.
Throughout her life, Jane held many jobs; worked at the Quincy Shipyard, as a graphic designer for MIT Brain & Cognitive Sciences, more recently, she was a Braintree Police officer, and a guard for the JFK Library. She was a lover of country music and all things Disney and James Bond. Jane was a very active woman; enjoyed sports, particularly playing for the local Women’s softball team in Braintree, bike riding and walking miles through her neighborhood, across town, and hiking the trails in the Blue Hills Reservation.
Jane is survived by her sister-in-law Mary Wilson of Rockland; her 2 nephews Christopher Wilson (and wife Caroline) of Cohasset and Todd Wilson of Rockland; and 2 great nephews Cameron and Liam Wilson (both of Cohasset). In addition to her family, Jane leaves behind many special friends and neighbors who were dear to her heart.
The family is grateful to Cardigan Nursing and Rehabilitation of Scituate, Life Care of Scituate, and the Norwell VNA for their care of Jane during her time of need.
