He was the beloved husband of Candy (Fallon) Thornton, with whom he shared 48 years of marriage.
Born in Brighton, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Glennon) Thornton. He grew up in Canton and spent his summers in Scituate. He has lived in Scituate for the past 55 years where he raised his family and loved spending time on his boat, the Meggie B, in Scituate Harbor.
He was a true entrepreneur who spent 50 years building a flooring empire working closely with the Lincoln boys and changing the lives of thousands of clients.
A devoted father, Twim found immense joy in the company of his family and friends. Whether gliding down slopes or generously spending working on projects, Twim cherished every moment spent skiing and lending a helping hand to those close to him.
He is also survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Charly and Vanessa Thornton and his daughter and son-in-law, Megan and Brian Kearney. His four grandchildren, Fiona and James Thornton, and Addie and Beckett Kearney, brought immense happiness and pride to his life. He is also survived by two brothers and many nieces, nephews and cousins whose company he always enjoyed!
Twim Thornton's legacy of love, laughter, and adventure will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew him. Twim’s enduring spirit and funny presence will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Twim's life will be held at Scituate Harbor Community Building on Saturday March 23rd from 1pm-4pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to New England Connection For PKU and Allied Disorders.
