He was the beloved husband of Marsha A. (Quinn) Rice, with whom he shared 44 years of marriage. Born in Weymouth, MA on February 25, 1944, he was the beloved son of the late Lawrence Rice and Margaret (Flaherty) Rice.
Jim worked for Settles Glass, Dwyers Glass, and during retirement, he would say his best job was working part time for the parts department at Marty's GMC.
Jim most enjoyed taking care of his ‘61 Corvette, along with joy rides with his wife Marsha all around New England. His best times were spent in the lake region in New Hampshire, Turks and Caicos, and along the beaches of Cape Cod. He also enjoyed gardening, his lawn, and feeding the birds.
On Sunday mornings he would go up to Mary Lou’s Coffee in Hanover with the ROMEO’s (Retired Old Men Eating Out) enjoying conversation and coffee.
In addition to his wife Marsha, Jim is survived by his siblings, Katherine Mahoney, Edwina Migliaccio, and Timothy Rice. Preceded by his brothers Larry Rice, and Robert Rice. Jim is also survived by many nieces and nephews, including his most beloved niece Sarah Bourgeois.
According to his wish, there will be no visiting hours. Interment is private and family only at St. Mary’s Cemetery Scituate, MA. This will be his final resting place.
