James F. McDonough, Sr., 55, lifelong resident of Scituate, passed away with his family at his side on November 18, 2015, after a short but painful battle with cancer. Loving husband of Christine (McGrath) McDonough.
James was the son of the late Mark M. McDonough and is survived by his mother Patricia McDonough of Marshfield, beloved father of James Jr. of Plymouth, Robert of Scituate and Mark of Plymouth and their mother Nellie McDonough and step-son Dillon Collins of NH, cherished brother of Mary Holmes and her husband Mitchell of Plymouth, Stephen McDonough and his late wife Nancy of Waltham, dear son-in-law of Virginia Deraney and Howard Densmore of Marshfield, brother-in-law of Jennifer Weitzman and James Powers. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Jim spent many years working for the U.S. Postal Service before following his true passion of opening his own auto repair shop in Scituate. Jim spent hundreds of hours working with friends and strangers alike in local programs to help people battle addictions and live a fulfilled and honest life. Jim touched so many people, in so many ways. He will be loved and missed by all but not forgotten.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, Nov. 21st at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent St, Scituate at 10AM. Burial will be private and visiting hours are omitted.
