James McCarthy

James Anthony McCarthy Jr. – 93 years old, lifelong resident of Scituate, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2021, after a brief illness, surrounded by family. He predeceased his wife Roseanne (Kane) McCarthy, and parents James A. McCarthy Sr. and Marguarite (Pratt) McCarthy.

He leaves behind his children Rosemarie Amendola of Texas, Kathleen Shmaruk, her husband Rick, of Rhode Island, Michael McCarthy of PA, Elizabeth (Tish) Scott, her husband Donald of Abington, James McCarthy III, his wife Kathleen of Scituate and daughter-in-law, Ellen (Butler) McCarthy of NC; Eight grandchildren, Matthew Amendola, Danny Amendola, Greg Holmes and his wife Kim, Jesse Holmes and his wife Crystal, Lindsey McCarthy, Jaclyn McCarthy, Lisa Marie Scott, and Andrew Scott; five great grandchildren Luca Amendola, Paige and Charlotte Holmes, Colin and Kylie Holmes, step-grandsons, RJ Shmaruck Jacob Shmaruk and Jaxon Shmaruk; sister-in-law Dorothy Kane of Scituate, and brother-in-law, John Kane and his wife Joyce of NJ.

James was a proud WWII and Korean war Navy and Army veteran. James was a painter by day, and musician by night. He was a member of the band Millie Whorf for over 60 years. James also enjoyed spending quality time with his family.
