Gerard "Jerry" E. von Freymann

von Freymann, Gerard “Jerry” E. of Scituate and formerly of Abington, died at home April 14th, 2012, surrounded by family. Born in 1946, he was the beloved husband of 26 years to Mary F. (Mitchell) von Freymann, devoted father to Kristen M. von Freymann of Plymouth, Jed von Freymann and his wife, Jamie (Witherell) von Freymann, of Scituate and loving “Papa” to three granddaughters, Madeline, Ava and Katherine. He is also survived by his brother Jeffrey W. von Freymann of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina.

Jerry graduated from Abington High School in 1964, after playing varsity sports and serving as class president. He graduated from Burdett College in 1966, after which he served in the U.S. Air Force until his honorable discharge in 1970. He had recently retired from the foodservice industry, which included 30 years as a salesman and sales manager for the Hallsmith-Sysco Corporation. An avid golfer and outdoorsman, he loved his family and he loved his friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects during viewing hours from 4pm to 8pm on Thursday, April 19 at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road in Scituate, and a funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday, April 20th at 10 am at Saint Mary of the Nativity in Scituate Harbor. Internment will take place in Cudworth Veteran’s Cemetery in Scituate.
