Gail Frances Oliveri

Cherished mother of Jill (Hamalainen) Laboissiere and her husband Marcio of Holliston, Carl Hamalainen and his wife Melissa of Kernersville, NC, and Amy Hamalainen of MI. Beloved “Gammy” to Christopher and Alex Laboissiere and Andrew, Erik, and Sophia Hamalainen. She is survived by her sister Susan Graham and her husband Bill of Scituate, brother Gary Sheehan and his wife Diane of Norwood, and sister Joyce LeBlanc and her husband Bob of Weymouth, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents Frank and Joyce Sheehan and her brother Ken of Norwood and Scituate.

Gail graduated from Norwood High School and the H.O. Peabody School of Nursing. She worked for many years at South Shore Hospital and several nursing facilities on the South Shore. After spending her childhood summers in Minot Beach, Scituate, she chose to raise her family in the town. Once her children were grown, Gail found happiness with Peter, and they enjoyed building a new life together in Plymouth. While they enjoyed exploring new vacation destinations and hobbies, they loved spending time with their family and grandchildren most of all. Peter lovingly cared for Gail over the last few years until his sudden passing in October 2022. The family would like to thank the staff of Home Instead, Residence at Valley Farm Ashland and Bear Mountain Sudbury for their help in caring for Gail.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday, January 20 at 10 a.m. at St. Mary’s of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Gail’s name can be made to the Alzheimer Association of Massachusetts.
