Elizabeth “Bette” (Flynn) Crowley of Scituate died peacefully at her home with her family by her side on April 3, 2023. Bette was born in Boston, MA to the late Joseph and Winifred (Walsh) Flynn. Cherished sister to the late Robert Flynn of Halifax, Valorie Duncan Roche, her husband Jerry of Weymouth and Phillip Duncan, his wife Monika of Florida. Bette graduated from N. Quincy HS and went on to Radcliffe to study liberal arts. Bette was proud to have worked many years in Boston for O’Day Day Sailor and ended her career at State Street Research.
Bette is survived by her loving husband John R. Crowley, and her three children Jodi Crowley DiNatale of Scituate, John Crowley, Jr. of Hawaii, and Jill Crowley Dishong, her husband Jim of Scituate, and her nephew Robert Flynn. Known affectionately by both Nana and Nannie, she is survived by her beloved grandchildren Paige, her fiancé Paullo Pereira, Parker & Francesca DiNatale, Jimmy Crowley, Maeve & Nolan Driscoll and great grandson, PJ Pereira.
A long time resident of Scituate, MA her love of the beach gave her great joy as she sat with family and friends, toes in the sand at Minot or Humarock beach, as well as winter escapes to Siesta Key, FL. Bette will be missed by all who knew her as she had a joy for life and people which she exuded in every encounter.
A visitation will be held on Monday April 10 from 4pm-8pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate.
