Elias Iordanopoulos (Jordan) was born on March 8, 1928 in Rescht, Iran and came to America to attend school when he was 17 years old, but soon left school to work.
He worked hard at the Meadows in Framingham after leaving school and eventually opened a very successful deli in Park Square over 50 years ago, then purchased the Kozy Korner in Brockton followed by Eli’s Restaurant in E. Sandwich until he came to Scituate in 1979.
Many wedding receptions, parties and celebrations have been held in the Williams Room of the Barker Tavern. Past and present employees universally credit Eli for the impact he had on them, both personally and professionally.
