Edward M. Corbo, a longtime resident of Scituate, MA passed away peacefully on the evening of December 25, 2021, at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth, MA. He was 79 years of age. Born in Boston, he was the son of the late Antonio and Eleanor (Gleavy) Corbo.
Ed was raised in Boston and graduated from Boston College High School. He spent his early career developing a trucking company before joining the Cohasset Fire department as a Firefighter where he spent more than 25 years prior to retiring.
Ed’s love of the sea drew him to Scituate where he enjoyed boating, fishing, working on his boat, and being near the ocean. He had a “gift of the gab” and could talk for hours about anything with anyone, but especially liked to talk about his children, his firefighting career, and the sea.
He is survived by his children: Kathleen Corbo of High Bridge, NJ; James Corbo and his wife Sherri (Hall) of Columbia, MD; Ann Marie Corbo of Scituate, MA; and Edward Corbo of Hanson, MA. He was the loving grandfather of 3 grandsons. Cherished brother of Mary Odenweller of Randolph, and the late Robert Corbo, Barbara Williamson, and Jane Coakley. Edward is survived by his former spouse, Kathleen M. Corbo. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
A private service will be held at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made in Edward’s loving memory to the American Heart Association.
