Dominic J Bonanno

Son of the late John and Conchetta Bonanno.

Beloved husband of 69 years to the late Frances M. (Guarnotta) Bonanno.

Dominic is survived by his son John M. Bonanno of Hiram, ME and his daughter Christine M. James of Scituate, MA.

He also leaves grandchildren Dominica A. Lopes and husband Christopher Lopes, Crystal A. James and her husband Michael R. Hoffman and Sgt. Shane M. Ricci US Army, whom is deployed in Kuwait. Great grandchildren Nina P. Lopes and Ryan J. Hoffman.

Dom was a WWII veteran. He was a school teacher in Scituate for 40 years. He announced the Varsity football games for many, many years and was known as “the voice of the Sailors.” He was a Grand Knight in the Knights of Columbus and a member of the VFW and the American Legion.

Dom enjoyed spending time with family and friends, honorary daughter Karen O’Brien Burkhardt and close friend Judy A. Lalime. He enjoyed lunch with his church pals. Dom touched many lives and will be missed by all.

Funeral from the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate on Saturday August 20, 2016 at 9 AM. Mass of Christian burial at 10 AM at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate. Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery where Dom will be laid to rest beside his dear wife.
