She leaves behind her loving husband of 62 years, Bruce Cunningham, their three children, Craig and his wife Beth of Scituate, Kelly of Quincy, and Matthew and his wife Patricia of Cohasset, as well as 7 grandchildren. She also leaves behind her brother, Robert Hobkirk, of Sacramento, California.
Carol was born in Detroit, Michigan to Robert James & Helen Hobkirk, whom she is predeceased by, as well as her sister, Marcia.
Carol was a devoted mother to her three children and was known in the neighborhood as “Mrs. C”. While successfully raising her children, she started her professional career as a kindergarten teacher. She then transitioned into real estate and eventually bought the company she was working for. She had her own real estate firm and was an entrepreneur. She passed along to her children the ideals of persistence, hard work and love of family. Carol was very competitive and found her way into the male-dominated world of seafood sales. Carol became the top salesperson in the company. She had an accomplished 20-year career in sales. She loved watching professional football and cheering on the Patriots. She enjoyed trips to Mohegan Sun with her husband. She loved to laugh and spend time with her family. Carol made many friends and will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
