He is survived by his loving wife Jean (Dooley) Wagner with whom he had recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Beloved father to daughter Katie and son-in-law Brian Duff of Hull, formerly Kingston and son Brian Wagner of Stoughton, formerly of Scituate. Cherished grandfather of Carrie Duff Ozuna, her husband David, and their daughter Elaina Rose of Wakefield, formerly Kingston, and Cameron and Kyle Duff of Hull, formerly Kingston.
Brother of Virginia (Ginny) Wagner Frew and the late Al Frew of Randolph, John (Jay) Wagner of Swampscott, and the late Robert (Bobby) Wagner and Elizabeth (Betty) Ann Roche Wagner of Canton. He also leaves behind numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Carl was an avid hunter, marksman and fisherman, often with his adored dogs Gertie, CJ, Skye, Shellie, & Brook in tow. Carl loved his boats, Rengaw and Naut Waiting, and he and Jean were mainstays on the B dock at Cole Parkway in Scituate Harbor for 46 years, where they made many friends. Carl was also the owner of South Shore Engineering of Hanover for more than 40 years.
A visitation will take place on Monday, August 9, 2021 from 4-8 pm at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. Funeral Mass Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at 10am at St. Mary of the Nativity Church, 1 Kent Street, Scituate with interment to follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
