Barbara A Loring

Barbara M. (Dorey) Loring, 82, of Whitman died Thursday, Nov. 11, at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was the wife of the late George A. Loring, a longtime Whitman police officer. Born in Brockton, daughter of the late James and Sarah (Walsh) Dorey, she was a graduate of Brockton High School. She was married in 1947 and she and George raised their family in Whitman. They retired to Florida and she returned to Whitman in 2005 after the death of her husband. She is survived by her daughter, Bonnie Goodale and her husband Charles; her son, James Loring. She also leaves a sister, Ruth Kern; and other family members and many friends. She was the mother of the late G. Michael Loring. Visiting hours are omitted. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, Nov. 18, at 10 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Church, Whitman. In lieu of flowers, donations in Barbara's name may be made to Old Colony Hospice, One Credit Union Way, Randolph, MA 02368.
