Arthur Joseph Scully

On 19 July 2022, Arthur Joseph Scully Jr., of Hingham MA, passed away in Melbourne FL at the age of 88. He was the son of the late Arthur and Margaret Scully. Loving brother to the late Marilyn Buckley, Janet O’Shea and Charles Scully. He attended Hingham High School and in 1956 graduated from Northeastern University. Arthur loved to sail, ski and travel around the world. Some of his favorite places included Iceland, Sweden, Alaska, and Chamonix. In the 50’s, he was a member of the U.S. Navy and served aboard the USS Canberra. He enjoyed sailing his boat around Cape Cod and attained his private pilot license in 1997. Arthur dedicated over 60 years working in Cambridge at Massachusetts Institute of Technology for the Nuclear Science Department. He loved spending time with his family and adored his great nieces and nephews. Arthur is survived by his nieces and nephews, Dr. Jennifer O’Shea, Daniel O’Shea, Dr. Elizabeth Speed, Kathleen Buckley, Deirdre Clark, Mortimer Buckley, Kara Z. Buckley, Elizabeth Scully, Sean Scully and Chuck Scully.
