Arthur Eli Perry

PERRY, Arthur (Artie) E. – 83, of Cohasset, formerly of Scituate passed away peacefully on August 4, 2018 at the South Shore Hospital in Weymouth surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Pauline M. (Bujnowski) Perry, with whom he shared 43 years of marriage.

Devoted and much loved father of Christopher Perry and his wife Deborah of Groton, Caroline Wilson and her husband Christopher of Cohasset, Patrick Perry and his wife Mary of Rockland and Richard Perry and his wife Linda of Scituate. Cherished “Papa” of grandchildren Samantha, Elizabeth, Cameron, Liam, Nicole, Nicholas, Kaleigh, Ava, Jake and Amelia.

Loving brother of Caroline Salvatore and her late husband Santo of South Kingstown, RI, Joseph Hussar and his wife Nelia of Montverde, FL, Sally Tempesta and her late husband Joe of Brighton, MA and Richard Perry and his partner Lorraine of Weymouth, MA. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arthur grew up in Boston and Weymouth, with his mother Caroline and his Pop Joe and Celie. A lifelong artist and teacher, Arthur attended Massachusetts College of Art and went on to earn a Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Cranbrook Academy of Art, where he also met his future wife Pauline. Arthur went on to enjoy a 38-year career as an Art Teacher in the Boston Public Schools. He also worked part time for nearly 20 years bartending at the former PJ’s Restaurant in Scituate. He lived in Scituate for many years, working with Pauline to build a fine family, home and gardens.

Visitation will take place on Thursday, August 9, 2018 from 4-8 PM, with a Memorial Service held on Friday, August 10, 2018 at 11 AM at the Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Interment to take place privately at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider a contribution to a scholarship fund in Mr. Perry’s name dedicated to Scituate High School students aspiring to attend Massachusetts College of Art.
