Anne "Pat" Curney

Anne Patricia Curney, 92, of Scituate MA. "Pat" to her family and friends, died peacefully at home on March 19, 2023 with her family by her side. Pat was born February 12, 1931 in Scituate MA. She moved to Weymouth MA and attended school there. Upon her graduation, she spent a year living and working in NYC but returned to Weymouth where she met and married her husband of 57 years, Warren E. Curney. They moved to Scituate and raised their family there. Pat entered the work force in the 1960's. She was a waitress at Bucky's Restaurant. Later she worked at Thayer Pharmacy in Scituate. Missing the food service industry she went to work at the Assinippi Eating Establishment in Hanover MA. She was one of the full-time staff there, always with a smile and some quick wit for 27 years. Pat retired in 2011. Not one to sit still upon retiring, she volunteered a few days a week at South Shore Hospital in the gift shop. Pat enjoyed reading, working in her yard, and could occasionally be seen on the deck of her husband's lobster boat as the "stern woman"

Pat is predeceased by her husband, Warren E. Curney who passed in 2006. Her brother James V. Palmer, and a sister Corinne E. Bradford. She is survived by her 3 daughters, Cynthia A Curney and her partner Wayne Mounce of Scituate, daughter Cheryl L. McElwee of Scituate, and Corinne C Smith and spouse Ralph Smith of Kearsarge, NH. She leaves behind 6 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday April 1, 2023 from 10am-11:30am at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate. A service will take place at 11:30am in the funeral home chapel, followed by a reception at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pat's memory to the Norwell Hospice Program, their professional and compassionate team were truly a blessing to us and we will be forever grateful for their help or to the The Scituate Animal Shelter.
