Alexander Wilson Hay, Jr. – 82, longtime Scituate resident passed away peacefully at home on the morning of October 30, 2022. He was the beloved husband of Bonnie (Brackett) Hay, with whom he shared nearly 40 years of loving marriage.
Born in New York, he was the son of the late Alexander W. and Elizabeth (Kerr) Hay. He earned his degree in English and Fine Arts at Colgate University in 1962. He enjoyed a lengthy career in Advertising, holding employment as an Advertising Executive with several companies including the J. Walter Thompson Advertising Agency, The New Yorker, New York Magazine and New West Magazine, as well as The Trade Publication for the Associated Industries of Massachusetts, Industry Magazine.
Alec and Bonnie loved celebrating Scottish history and heritage. Both chaired the Clan Hay tent at countless Scottish Highland games throughout New England for over 10 years. Alec and Bonnie loved traveling to Bermuda along with many other island destinations. Alec was also a passionate Jaguar automobile enthusiast. He and Bonnie celebrated numerous Jaguar events in multiple states and clubs over the past decade, and even fulfilled Alec's lifelong dream to acquire their own 1954 Jaguar XK120-SE.
He was the proud father of Alex Hay, III and his wife Laura of Duxbury. Proud grandfather of Alexander "Wilson" Hay, IV. Loving brother of Elizabeth K. Hay of Nashville, TN. Brother-in-law of Robert D. Brackett and his wife Bonnie of Chatham.
Funeral service on Friday, November 4, 2022 at 10 AM at Richardson-Gaffey Funeral Home, 382 First Parish Road, Scituate followed by interment in Trinity Park Cemetery.
