Rachel Grace Peiffer Carpenter

Rachel Grace Carpenter, 85, of Waldeck, died Saturday, September 24, 2011 in the Lancaster General Hospital. She was the wife of the late Elwood M. Carpenter. She was born in Lebanon, daughter of the late Samuel and Helen Kneasel Peiffer. She was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, Schaefferstown. She is survived by children, Thomas husband of Terri Carpenter and Susan wife of Clyde Wrigley both of Waldeck; grandchildren, Monica wife of Sam Pachuillo, Ryan Carpenter, Benjamin Wrigley and Daniel husband of Shirley Wrigley; great grandchildren, Marshall Etzweiler, Torey Etzweiler and Jacob Wrigley. She was preceded in death by brothers, Donald, Russell and Martin Peiffer and sisters, Jane Mastre and Ellen Hetrick. Rachel was totally devoted to her family's happiness and well-being. Among the many things she enjoyed were baking, reading and tending her flowerbeds. A celebration of Rachel's life will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ, 305 West Main St., Schaefferstown, PA 17088. Interment will be made in the Cornwall Cemetery. A viewing will be held on Tuesday from 6 to 8:00 PM at Clauser Funeral Home, N. Carpenter St., Schaefferstown and on Wednesday from 10:00 AM until time of service at the church.
