Jerry L. Loeb, 76, of Lebanon, passed away on Friday, August 5, 2022 in the Lebanon VA Medical Center. He was the husband of Sally A. (Spitler) Loeb with whom he was married to for 32 years. He was born in Myerstown on May 12, 1946, son of the late Arthur and Stella (Wartluft) Loeb. Jerry was a retired Chief Master Sergeant, vehicle maintenance supervisor, working for the 201st Red Horse Unit at Fort Indiantown Gap Military Reservation. He served in the US Air Force for 35 years and saw duty in Vietnam and Desert Storm. He was a graduate of Ephrata High School and a member of the Richland American Legion, Post 880 and Myerstown VFW, Post 6076. Jerry was a member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Schaefferstown where he served as past president of the church council and property committee. Beginning in his teens, drag racing became his passion. He would race at many tracks including Maple Grove, Beaver Springs, and Numedia to name a few. He was a talented and very competitive driver which led him to set track records and win many races. He also love to attend car shows throughout central PA. He was a talented athlete playing both soccer and softball into his early adult years. Surviving in addition to his wife are daughters, Traci Ocker of Lebanon; Danielle Loeb and husband, Shane Topper of Wrightsville; Mandy Spitler of Lebanon; grandchildren, Gage and Chase Ocker, Damian and Drayden Spitler, Gavin and Ava Topper; sister, Mildred “Mickey” Rank of Bethel. He was preceded in death by sister, Carole Miller. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 2:00 pm in St. Pauls’ United Church of Christ, 1304 Heidelberg Ave., Schaefferstown, PA 17088, with a viewing beginning on Saturday at 12:30 at the church. Interment with military honors will be made in Christ Lutheran Cemetery, Stouchsburg. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Paul’s UCC or Humane Society of Lebanon County, 150 N.
