Carolyn M Hauck

Carolyn M. Sutherly Hauck, 90, formerly of Newmanstown, passed away on Thursday, December 23, 2021 in Stone Ridge Towne Centre, Myerstown. She was the wife of the late Vernon Sutherly and Milford Hauck. She was born in Sheridan on December 13, 1931, daughter of the late George R. and Katie L. Miller Kahl. Carolyn was supervisor of housekeeping at Wernersville State Hospital retiring after 18 years of service. She was a member of the Elias United Church of Christ, Newmanstown where she served as Committee Chairperson for their Soup and Bake Sales. Carolyn was an avid Phillies fan and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is survived by children, Dawn Neider and husband Gary of Reinholds; Derek Sutherly and wife Kim of FL; Trina Brugger and husband Jeff of Denver; Lane Sutherly and wife Diane of Newmanstown; step children, Kenneth “Pinky” Hauck and wife Carol of Myerstown; Linda Sheetz and husband Logan of Richland; Dale Hauck of Cleona; Brian Hauck and wife Kelly of Schaefferstown; 8 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; 10 step grandchildren; numerous step great grandchildren; sisters, Nancy Angstadt of Newmanstown; Bonita Beamesderfer and husband Calvin of Myerstown. She was preceded in death by brothers, Leroy, Allen, George, James, John and Larry Kahl; sisters, Violet Weaver, Josephine Wolfe, Sarah Wolfe, Loretta Eisenbise and Grace Weik; stepson, William Hauck. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 4, 2022 at 11 am in Elias United Church of Christ, 9 N. Sheridan Road, Newmanstown, PA, with a viewing beginning on Tuesday at 10 am. Masks are suggested to be worn. Interment will be made in the Millcreek Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Elias UCC, 9 N. Sheridan Road, Newmanstown, PA 17073.
