Norman was a retired sheet metal worker with Local Union 28 in New York City. He served in World War II as a Lieutenant in the British Army, where he was stationed in Nairobi, Kenya. After serving in the war, he was a police officer stationed in Edinburgh, Scotland. He then moved to the United States in his early twenties. He loved to ski, fish, golf, and garden and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Antoinette (Venuto) Grundy of 55 years; two sons, David Grundy and his wife Helen of Valhalla, New York and Andrew Grundy and his wife Anita of Greenwich, Connecticut; three grandchildren, Joan Park, Alexandra Grundy, and Ryan Grundy; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brother, Douglas, of Downey, California.
