We will miss Marina's beautiful smile and cheerful disposition.  She was a wonderful mom and proud grandmother - it was abundantly clear that her family was her greatest love and joy.  Doug and I are so sorry for your loss and send love and condolences to the entire family. 

The Kelly family was so sorry to hear about Marina's death. Our prayers are with the entire Perna family. Marina was a constant sweet and cheerful part of our Saltaire lives, and we have missed her.  Blessings to you all.  -

I had the greatest time working with Marina on this canvas (and others).  Her vision and creativity knew no bounds.  My condolences to her family.  She was the proudest mom, grandmother, and wife!  She was very special!

I met Marina twelve years ago at Stitch By Stitch.  I grew to cherish our relationship. Marina was not only a wonderful, encouraging teacher, but a true friend, sincere and compassionate. I miss her sorely. Marina made my life richer.

Marina was a true artist who guided all of us to needlepoint beautiful works of art.  She was an inspiration to all who had the honor and pleasure to sit with her. Every time I sit down to needlepoint I will remember Marina and aspire to do needlepoints like she did.

I write on behalf of the Tuesday afternoon cohort from Stitch by Stitch in Larchmont.  Marina played a profound role in our lives. Her talent is evident in her magnificent needlepoints.   But more than artist, she was quite the best teacher any of us has known.  With boundless patience and compassion, she taught everything she knew about design and technique and kept us joyful.  We continue to meet weekly, leaving a chair for Marina.  We miss her.  We love her forever.   We were blessed to be her needlepoint family.  May we all take comfort in knowing what Marina would tell us.  She is safe, out of pain, and watching over us with needle in hand.  

Marina, Debra and Me.  We used to go out every month to chat, laugh and fun. 

Marina, my needlepoint teacher, my friend, my sweet, patient angel. My heart breaks to have lost your wisdom, your smile, your laughter, your support, your creativity and your bright light. I love you and I hope you are at peace and surrounded by love.
