Marie Licata

Marie (Roe) Licata passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 87. Roe was born on March 2, 1938 in the Bronx, New York the daughter of the late Antonio and Maria (Soranno) Rutigliano. She was a graduate of Grace Dodge High-school in the Bronx. While she was truly always a Bronx girl at heart, she loved raising her family in the community of Pelham Manor, New York where she was a beloved School Crossing Guard for 20 years at the Prospect Hill school and recently retired May 2023.

Her favorite pastime was Fox News. Her love for her country and politics is what kept her strong and sharp. Roe was so proud of her Italian heritage and being a true barese. Roe is pre-deceased by her 11 siblings, Francis, James, Anna, Claire, Joseph, baby Donato, Danny, Jenny, Laura, Antonio, Tina; and her son-in-law, Richard DeSantis. She is survived by of her three loving daughters, Kelli DeSantis, Joanne Licata, Jamie (Michael) Licata. Her beloved grandson Louis, her former husband Richard (Nancy) Licata, the family cat Lamy, many nieces, nephews, friends, neighbors and her Prospect Hill community.

A funeral mass for Marie will be held Saturday, April 12, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at Church of the Holy Family, 83 Clove Rd, New Rochelle, NY 10801. Following the funeral mass will be a committal service from 11:30 AM to 11:45 AM at Gate Of Heaven, 10 W Stevens Ave, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
