Everyday there is an emptiness in my heart when I'm at work. 
I was your friend and your partner in the field for 12 years. It was an honor to work with you. Life didn't turn out the way we thought but no matter where you are your memory will always be alive in my soul.

I have many fond memories of Kevin when we were growing up playing baseball in the Mount Vernon Little League on the same team together that our father's coached. Later, there were summer baseball camps and summer leagues. Although we were not blood-related, our families were very close and we got together often to celebrate birthdays and holidays. Summers at the Cape were special too - body surfing at Nauset Beach, riding in the Jeep with the top down, whiffle ball, trading baseball cards, miniature golf, lobster dinners, corn on the cob eating contests (which Kevin always won), ice cream sundaes at The Cape Cone, watching the Orleans Firebirds baseball team play at night under the lights, going to Fenway to see his beloved Red Sox, and mostly all of the laughs we had goofing around. It was a charmed childhood and I'll never forget him. RIP Kevin

Very sincere condolence to all of you today on the very very sad passing of dearest Kevin at such a young age.  Special love and heartfelt sympathy and affection  to his loving children Kenneth and Kayla and of course to you Mary and Fred his wonderful parents we feel your pain and you Christopher his brother we are so sorry.

My heartfelt  condolences  go out to Kevin's  family. I met Kevin  over 25 years ago.  We were  co-workers at Yankee Stadium.  We started  talking about  sports. Basketball was  our main conversation.  I was working with  Nike at the time as City Wide Sports  Director. He would  ask  me about my Tournaments.  As time went by we started talking about Kenneth (little  Kevin  as I called him .) It was a Honor and a privilege to have worked with him all those years. Kevin was a special guy, a dedicated Father and co-worker in that order. He was so proud of his children. I will cherish our friendship and our talks. He was a good man and a great person. Kevin was Loved and  Respected by all his co-workers. I will forever miss him. Family you will never forget him but with time it will be a little easier.  You all will be in my prayers always. My sincere condolences to Kevin's family and friends.  When I first came into the department we worked in the same unit at 53 South Broadway for about seven years.  He was low-key and a man of few words but I got to know him during our occasional chats.  He would flash that smile during our conversation, especially in speaking of his children.  Sometimes I would overhear him interviewing (his voice carried down the hall lol) and I would take note.  He was firm but fair.  He didn't sugar coat it and he told it like it was while always remaining professional and respectful.  Just an all-around cool dude.  I remember seeing him jog around Mt. Vernon in Fleetwood on occasion and when I mentioned it to him he gave me that look so I had to let him know I wasn't stalking him lol.  This department has lost a special person.  Please watch over us with our other Angels.  God Bless.

Sincerest condolences to the O’Connor family. It hardly seems possible that Kevin is gone. I have many memories from our time at Georgetown, but I’ll share just one. 

We were called on by our assistant coach one winter day on the top of Yates Field House in our pre-season conditioning work to “leave nothing on the table” for a particular run. We finished the run, and then the coach told us to line up for one more. Kevin immediately spoke up and pointed out that per the previous direction, by definition, we should have nothing left for another run. I recall that this infallible logic was acknowledged by the coaching staff -- and that we also did that next run. 

Rest in peace, Kev. We were lucky to have known you and to have been your friend.

Condolences to the O’Conner family. Heartbroken to lose a friend like Kev.  From the day we met in the GU baseball clubhouse (you made it clear right away that #9 was your number), to all those days taking grounders at 3B together, to rooming together in Florida (still laugh when I think about that one Entennman’s cookie we left in your box), to the many years of fantasy sports since graduation — you have been taken from us too soon, and I regret that  we didn’t get to spend more time together, but I always loved seeing you at Yankee Stadium, and will always cherish  our trip to Cooperstown and our many (many) sports conversations (despite your being a Red Sox fan). Your quirky sense of humor and outlook on life were always a highlight of our time together.  You will be sorely missed, and the world is a darker place without your spirit.  Hoping that you and Pete are able to reconnect now and have a laugh (likely at our expense). We love and miss you Kev. Rest in peace.

Although I didn't work with Kevin in the same office I would see him periodically at work.  Kevin always had the biggest smile and a warm hello.  Kevin, you always brightened my day.  May your family and children find peace in knowing how loved you were by your coworkers.   Kevin, may your memory be a blessing to all who knew and loved you.  Rest in peace with God and his angels.

Officer O’ Connor has been my probation officer for the past 18 months, he was so kind to me all the time even when he was having an off day. Officer O’ Connor always did what was right & helped me with anything I needed from him with urgency & professionalism. I went to my appointment to see him this morning only to find out the devastating news of his sudden passing. Officer O’ Connors colleagues all had tears In their eyes today, even the front desk secretary was devastated. Their sadness of his passing represents how great of a person Officer O’ Connor was & always will be. At the end of my term I wanted to get Officer O’ Connor a funny mug or a keychain as a small token of thanks & to serve as a reminder to him, of how great he is/was at his profession. Officer O ‘Connor will always be remembered by me & my family in our hearts.

We have many memories of you growing up and sharing good times with our families on the beach at the Cape. We followed you as you graduated from The Mount and entered  college at Georgetown and watched you play baseball there. We visited you at Yankee Stadium where you worked a second job.  Your career as  a Probation Officer was exemplary as a service to the community. Your Mom and Dad always kept us up to date of your activities with your children as you watched them grow in their sporting  events. I know your Mom,  Dad and children will miss you terribly and from what we have read from the condolences left by many of your fellow workers and friends you will be missed by many more people. A great legacy to be loved by your fellow man. We will miss you too. We know you are in Heaven your final resting place. May you rest in peace. I remembered this beautiful soul who cared so much for his children and worked hard to achieve the best. Many years ago he was a basketball coach and a great one at its best..my son and his son had a great time and experienced learning the basic foundation of basketball. It is with  such a sadness to hear of this loss. I pray for his family and most dearly his children.. Rest in peace kevin..

OC, I was heartbroken to hear you were gone.  I’m wiping the tears away as I try to write something for you here.  It’s been many years since I saw you.  I think the last time was at the stadium.  I remember having to tell the staff person “which Kevin O’Connor” I was talking about…..minutes later you walked up to my seat and said hi as if I had seen you earlier that day with the OC smile.  Thanks for always making me feel like we never lost the connection.  I’m thankful that I knew you and all the memories from baseball we shared with everyone else.   I’ll never forget pushing the refrigerator through California with you and getting pulled over by that cop.   It’s very hard to believe you are gone.  Love you man.

Although Kevin and I worked in separate departments, I had the pleasure of speaking with him on many occasions over the years and always enjoyed our talks - the last one being on Friday when we ended with a smile and a “fist bump.”  Kevin always struck me as a man of high intelligence, athletic ability and impeccable character. Perhaps that is why the Lord has decided he is ready to bask in eternal glory. After all, how many men are able to live a life that not only honors those exceptional people that lived before them, but also serve as an example for others to emulate when they are gone? I met Kevin 20 years ago at Yankee Stadium, he was part of the management team and I a cashier. We became friends upon our first introduction. Kevin was truly a down to earth person with a caring spirit. Kevin had a swagger in his walk that I felt made him sexy and a smile that could turn a bad day into a good day. We both held down 2 jobs doing what we had to do for our family. If you got the chance to hold a conversation with him, you knew you were talking to a man of integrity. For those of us who are still at the Stadium and knew Kevin, we shall miss him and to this day we still say” If Kevin was here, this employee line at Gate 8 would be in order”.  His memory shall live in our hearts always.

I can't believe you're gone Kevin.  I miss you tremendously already.  We texted or talked almost every night and I will miss your insight, humor, and integrity dearly.  Already had to put down my phone numerous times today when I was about to text you a Yankees comment, a Red Sox comment, or just about life.  I did that because i respected and valued your opinion so much.  You are someone I always held in high esteem because you were such a genuine person.  Please say hello to Lenny and Jeff for me and tell them they are not forgotten.  Rest in peace.  I'll always be your pal.

I have had the honor and privilege to have known Kevin for over 15 years with the Westchester County Probation Department working in the city of Yonkers. Kevin and I became very good friends due to our love for sports, especially baseball. Kevin was a big Boston  Redsox fan and Minnesota Vikings fan. We loved to talk about our favorite sports teams and share different stories about the sports world. 

I knew Kevin as a man of principle who believed in hard work and dedication to being the best Probation Officer he can be. That being said, nothing was more important to him than his two children that he was so proud of for what they have accomplished in their lives. He would often talk to me about how proud he was of his son who played high school basketball and also his daughter that played softball. I admired Kevin for how great of a man he was as a Probation Officer, friend, but most importantly as a dedicated and loving father. 

Kevin, I will miss you deeply and I wish you were here so I can tell you how much I cherished our friendship. May you rest in peace my friend. 

My condolences go out to his family. He was an awesome father and great PO. I’m glad I got to know the real Kevin because he was 
truly an amazing person. He was always so proud of his children and never hesitated to be their biggest cheerleader in any event. He always spoke the truth which is what I loved the most about him. I’m going to miss him coming into my cubicle trying to whisper and me telling him he wasn’t doing a good job whispering. Most of all I’m going to miss our laughs, jokes, and you having my back. I was fortunate to be one of the few officers that got to laugh with him on Friday and I will always cherish that moment.
