Joan Doyle, 88, of White Plains, formerly Scarsdale, passed away suddenly at home Thursday morning October 4, 2018. Joan was pre-deceased by her husband Paul, and is survived by her five children, Paul Jr (Susan), Kathy (Sean), Mary Ann (Lance), Liz, Greg (Jo Anne), and by her 14 beloved grandchildren.
She is also survived by her siblings Bill Harrington (Marge) of Darien, CT, Paul Harrington (MA) of Somers, NY, Sally Beers (Phillip (dec)) of Rye, NY and a trove of lifelong friends from St Gabe’s in New Rochelle.
Born March 6, 1930 in Brookline, MA, Joan lived in Scarsdale, NY from 1969-1999 where she was an active parent volunteer at IHM school and church, a vocal supporter of Scarsdale High School Athletics and, later, IHM CYO and Eastchester High School Athletics. She was an avid tennis and paddle tennis player and member of Fox Meadow Tennis Club. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family, especially on the beaches of Cape Cod, Mass.
A wake will be held Monday at Edwin L. Bennett Funeral Home from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm and a Mass of Christian Burial at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale on Tuesday October 9, 2018 at 10am.
