Gertrude R. Acken

Gertrude Romer Acken of Woodcliff Lake, NJ, formerly of New Rochelle and Scarsdale, NY, passed away March 27, 2017. She was 106. Trude was born February 5, 1911 in Cincinnati, OH to the late John H. and Mabel (Gates) Romer.

She is survived by her children, John Acken and his wife Susan of Old Tappan, NJ and Janet Aufsfeld of Mahwah, NJ; grandchildren, Gregory Acken, Jean Horvath, Kathryn Meyer, Jill Brubaker and 12 great grandchildren. Trude was predeceased by her husband Arthur in 1977, her daughter Gail in 2005 and 3 siblings, Robert, Gates and Dorothy.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday April 3, 2017 at 10:00 AM at St. Pius X Church, Scarsdale, NY. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY.
