Violet May Meikle

On November 11th, 2021, Violet May Meikle got her wings and went to walk with the angels. She was 77 years old. Affectionately known as “Vi”, Violet always put the needs of others in front of hers, especially when it came to food! She never missed an opportunity, to prepare meals for anyone needed it. Her curry goat and mannish water soup will be missed by all who tasted it.

Violet was born on February 6, 1944 in Manchester, Jamaica where she lived until the age of 26 when she migrated to Toronto, Canada, where she resided till her death.

Violet is lovingly remembered her children: Daughter Brendolyn, Sons; Robert, Vincent (Kimmie), and Jermaine (Nadine); Grandchildren O’Neil, Craig, Tanisha, Nathaniel, Shemera, Brandon, Rojay, Zyon, Zyana, and Zyla; Great Grandchildren Oneica and Cory; Sisters Ena, Eileen/Faye, Audrey and Marily; Brothers Lloyd and Oliver; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and life-long friends. Violet was predeceased by her parents Helen and Ralph, her son Chester, and brother Hector and sisters Blossom and Florence.

A visitation for Violet will be held Friday, November 26, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E, Scarborough, ON M1R 2Y8. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 10:00 AM at Wilmar Heights Baptist Church, 1687 Victoria Park Avenue, Toronto, ON M1R 1R7. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery, 625 Birchmount Road, Toronto, ON M1K 1R1. Due to the COVID guidelines guests are still required to follow the mandate of two metres (six feet) physical distancing. For the visitation 50 people will be permitted in the room at a time. Guests may be required to wait in line prior to entering the funeral home. Upon entry to the funeral home guests will be required to provide their contact information for the purpose of contact tracing. Proof of vaccination is not required. Masks or face coverings are required indoors.
