Shirley was a city girl, a Toronto girl from the east end.
Shirley loved nothing better than being with her family.
Laughing together at the silliest things, until we were in tears.
Shirley was loved tenderly by her husband of 65 years, Jack (2017).
She will be missed deeply by daughters, Sandy (Glen), Debby (Joe), granddaughters Caralyn (2001), Candace (Jordan) and great grandchildren Cole, Eve and Rose.
Shirley was born on May 16, 1934 and was the second of three children born to Margaret and Samuel Herman. Predeceased by her older brother Harold. Her younger sister Gloria (Ben) resides in Florida.
It was with a group of friends, while attending a dance at a church on the Danforth, that Shirl met Jack, the love of her life.
They married in 1952 and started a life filled with, enduring friendships, children/grands & greats, fulfilling careers, outdoor adventures, travel and a comfortable retirement.
Shirl was a hard working woman, having a career with the Royal Bank.
Shirley & Jack cottaged in Muskoka, wintered in Florida and vacationed in Myrtle Beach, Mexico and beyond.
Mom was forever supportive and loved us dearly.
We love you and will miss you.
There will be a gathering at Paul O’Connor Funeral Home,
