Joyce Alberta Marks

Peacefully at St. Mary’s Hospital on Friday May 19, 2023 at the age of 95.

It’s with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our mother at St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener at the age of ninety-five (95).

Joyce led a full life and enjoyed a healthy lifestyle including swimming and yoga. She enjoyed reading and learning, with keen interests in world affairs, politics and ecumenical religion. She and Jack (predeceased 2007) travelled widely with friends during retirement. Joyce treasured family, both immediate and extended and was interested in genealogy.

Loving mother of Karen Boa, John Marks (spouse Barb) and Scott Marks. Grandma, fondly remembered by grandchildren Christopher Boa (Thea Winterton-Perks), Jillian Boa (Michael Lumb), Douglas Marks (Katrina Marks), Stuart Marks (Jen De Rosa), Brent Marks (Fee Stehle), Elyse Marks and Erik Marks and great-grandchildren Miguel and Gloria Marks and Hugo Stehle/Marks.

Visitation at PAUL O’CONNOR FUNERAL HOME, 1939 Lawrence Ave. E. (between Warden and Pharmacy) on Tuesday May 23, 2023, from 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm. Funeral Service on Wednesday May 24, 2023, at 11:00 am at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Scarborough. Interment at St. Andrews Cemetery to follow the service. Reception at the church immediately following the service/internment.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Heart and Stroke Foundation and St. Andrews Presbyterian Church would be appreciated by the family.
